Pale seating with warm teak arms.
The Caden Aluminium Dining Chair uses a powder coated aluminium frame with teak arm accents, so you get the weather resistance of aluminium alongside the warmth of natural timber where your arms actually rest. Aluminium does not rust, which makes it well suited to New Zealand outdoor conditions, and the chair can stay out in the sun. The stackable design lets several store in a compact footprint, useful when an outdoor area needs clearing. The teak arms will benefit from occasional care to maintain their finish. It arrives fully assembled, ready to use.

Product Care
- To clean any powder coated metal pieces, simply wipe down items with a damp cloth.
- Dust can be wiped off with a clean cloth.
- We recommend treating all metal surfaces with a coat of rust inhibitor such as Guardsman Weather Defence Metal Protector, following the manufacturers instructions, to increase the longevity of the product. Particularly in joins, welds and any surface where the metal has been exposed.
- Areas around Bolts and assembly points should have extra attention as these are the areas (if any) that could possibly receive scratches in the powder coating, while tightening the hardware etc, areas exposed to the weather will be more susceptible to rust.
- Like all outdoor furniture, these products will keep their new appearance longer if they are protected from the elements when not in use. We recommend using a protective cover or storing undercover when not in use.
- If furniture is to be located in close proximity to the sea, additional care must be taken to avoid damage caused by sea salt corrosion.
Disclaimer – even though powder coating does help to protect the metal from rusting and corrosion, it can still over time develop rust or corrosion (especially around bolts, welds and joins etc, which tend to be the first areas to show signs of deterioration). We recommend regular maintenance with a rust preventative or inhibitor.
- Teak is an extremely durable wood and requires a moderate amount of maintenance or care. It only needs some basic cleaning to remove dirt and to prevent external mould growth.
- For our teak pieces that have been sealed at the factory with a teak oil/sealer, the timber will need to be maintained to increase its longevity, we recommend regular maintenance, with a teak oil or teak sealer to protect your investment. These are normally applied twice a year, or as needed depending on your climate or outdoor conditions.
- For all timbers that have a factory applied coating, the same finish should continue to be used when maintaining your furniture. For example: if your table is originally sealed with Polyurethane, you will need to continue to maintain with a Polyurethane sealer. However, if you wish to switch to an oil sealer, 100% of the Polyurethane must be sanded off before applying the oil to allow the oil to penetrate the timber to achieve a cohesive look.
- Timber stained with a water based stain may be further protected with an oil based sealant. To keep the original apperance of stained teak, we recommend re-staining your furniture yearly.
- A teak sealer also helps prevent food stains or water marks appearing, however, your teak furniture can also be cleaned simply by scrubbing with warm soapy water followed by hosing down with water and being left to dry naturally.
- Like all outdoor furniture, these products will keep their new appearance longer if they are protected from the elements when not in use. We recommend using a water tight protective cover or storing these furniture pieces under cover when not in use, for example over winter or during the wet season.
- If mildew develops the timber will turn black, this forms on the surface and isn’t detrimental to the timber, this can be scrubbed using a mild detergent and warm water mix, for more stubborn mould the hardware stores sell a full range of mould removing products
- To remove stubborn stains, sand with a fine grade of sandpaper making sure to work with the direction of the grain. You should not use much force. Afterwards, use a garden hose to rinse off the teak furniture with water, pat the wood dry with a towel and let the sun dry up any remaining moisture. You may then seal it with a teak oil/sealer.
- Oiled outdoor timber products are recommended for outdoor use only.
- Like all outdoor furniture, these products will keep their new appearance longer if they are protected from the elements when not in use for extended periods. We recommend using a protective cover or storing undercover.
- It is recommended that you tighten the screws on tables and benches periodically.
- To give extra protection against hot cups, plates etc and accidental spillages, it is always best to protect the beauty of your table with place mats.
